A HOT/Optic Nerve announcement:

The 2024 'SWAG SACK' REISSUE IS (NEARLY) HERE!

Released originally in 1989, collecting together the band’s first three releases with a couple of extra tracks, this spanking new 2025 version comes with coloured vinyl, a bonus track, 21st Century remixes of most tracks, fully remastered throughout, a freshly reappraised sleeve based on the original, and new sleevenotes by BOB biographer John Hartley. Available for preorder now and released 31st January 2025.

From Banwell to Berlin: The Book of BOB

From Banwell to Berlin and Beyond: The Book of BOB was written by John Hartley and published in hard and soft back versions by i40. Fully authorised by the band, the book tells the story of BOB from its inception through to the last gig in 2019.

John is the author of a number books, a musician, and a longtime follower of the band. He created the first BOB ‘fan’ site on MySpace in the early noughties and, for the book, extensively interviewed the band and many of the people that contributed to the BOB story: past members, managers, producers, crew, family, friends, etc.

Initial copies of the hardback version came with a limited edition CD made especially to accompany the book by the band. The hard back run sold out very quickly and was replaced by a soft back version, which has now also sold out.

Happily BOB can now announce that the CD that accompanied the book is now available to purchase from this site. Full details can be found here.

BOB - No Mean Typist, 1986

Another exciting release from a few years ago was the reissue of No Mean Typist, which was a cassette of some of the very first songs and recordings Simon and Richard wrote and made. Issued initially in 1985 in an edition of no more than about 10, this later reissue was issued in an edition of 100 and sold out in a day. More details can be found on our discography page here.
